'The Mappist' Story Featuring Google Maps
This map displayed on by blog represents the story
written by Barry Lopez entitled ‘The Mappist’ which describes a man named
Phillip Trevino’s journey with his beginning stages of college education specifically
focused on mapping stories and designs. His life takes it course from getting
his bachelor’s degree to discovering and ending by meeting his role model/hero
of whom he hopes to pattern his work after in Corlis Benefideo. Trevino is
enthusiastic about mapping work and journeys globally to the bounds of the
earth to discover who the individual he is fascinated with is. Trevino ends up
purchasing up to 13 of Benefideo’s mapping books after finding his name in the
corner of his work in small lettering in a nation across hemispheres which
leads to him uncovering the desired person he is hoping to meet. Benefideo had
his name mainly entirely absent off all copies of his work to remain hidden and
secret from the federal government of whom he used to be employed by. I have organized my mapping content by
focusing on Corlis Benefideo’s books he wrote and his life path first in
chronological order and then the progressive layers introduce Phillip Trevino’s
life span. This story titled ‘The Mappist’ is very informative when it comes to
individuals who have a passion for geography, history, and cultural features
which is a definite read. A complete analysis of the reading in visual design
form is present online on my Google Maps site. Thank you for your time!
